Morley's Final Catalogue: Not listed. Nepticulids were not well studied and only 21 species listed.

Life Style: A single brooded species that flies in June. The larvae mine leaves of Prunus species. They pupate in a cocoon on the ground where they pass the winter.

Identification: The moth has dark wings with an irregular white central fascia. The scape is white and the head tuft orange. The moth can be identified by breeding out from a mine or by genitalia dissection detail for which can be found in the publication by Erik J. van Nieukerken Tijdschrift voor entomologie 128 1985 1 – 164, available through Biodiversity Heritage Library.org.
Oviposition is on the underside of a leaf. The mine is distinctive. The mine is a contorted gallery with a linear frass line that enlarges and becomes a blotch adjacent to the gallery. The frass in the blotch is placed around the exit to the gallery leaving much of the blotch clear. More Info
