Morley's Final Catalogue: Rarely seen, though doubtless common. Felixstow in July 1902 (Gbs); Hemley (Wir, EMM. 1904, 80); Shrubland in 1930 (Whit); Flixton, and a few at Aldeburgh (Ctw); Glemham Magna (Bloomfield); Hacheston (Hkr); Lowestoft (Crf). One sitting on Freckenham church, near Mildenhall, in June 1915 (Mly).

Recent Status: A very common species in Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded summer flying species. It flies by day and night and comes to light. The larvae hibernate. They feed on and in the roots of Taraxacum. They pupate in the ground.

Identification: A distinctively marked species. No similar Suffolk species
