Morley's Final Catalogue: Not listed. The Nepticulids were not extensively studied, only 21 are listed.

Recent Status: A scarce species in Suffolk.

Life Style: A double brooded species flying during April, May and August. The larvae mine leaves of Betula. They pupate on the leaf in summer and on the ground in winter.

Identification: The moth is a bronze fuscous with a purple sheen towards the termen. There is a clear silver fascia. The head tuft is orange and the scape and collar whitish. The moth can be identified by breeding out from a mine or by genitalia dissection. More Info
The larva creates a mine from the ovum on the underside of a leaf. They start by creating a contorted disc of galleries that results in a brown blotch. They move out from this creating a wide gallery completely filled with frass. More Info
