Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded late summer species. The larvae feed from December to April on Stellaria holostea. Initially they mine a leaf and then move to terminal buds and shoots. They pupate on the ground.

Identification: A species with similarities to the commoner C. marmorea. The paler area of C. marmorea in C. tricolorella is more likely to be brown or grey and the black costal mark at one quarter wider and more dominant but the species is variable.
