Life Style: A double brooded species. The larvae mine leaves of Rosa. They pupate on the leaf.

Identification: The moth is a dark winged species with a white fascia, orange head tuft and whitish scape and collar. The moth can be identified by breeding out from a mine or by genitalia dissection. More Info
The larva creates a relatively short gallery from the ovum on the underside of a leaf. The mine can be distinguished from that of S. anomalella by the dark frass line normally being central and narrow for the entire length. More Info
