Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk. Also known as N. wolffiella.

Life Style: A single brooded species that flies from May to August. The larvae feed on the fungi Annulohypoxylon multiforme and Fomitopsis betulina and rotting wood infected with the fungi.

Identification: The moth has a dark brown or black forewing marked with white. The white marks are around the costa termen and dorsum with one also at three quarters centrally. There may sometimes be more extensive white spotting and in those specimens genitalia dissection may be necessary to identify the species. The head is ochreous.
